"No Aunt Holly my name is Avery!"

Heather blessed me with becoming the Aunt of two wonderful nephew's.  I have had the opportunity to be involved in their lives, and experience all  the craziness two boys have to offer.  I always love being around them, but look forward to the stillness of my own house... That was until my little Brody Bear came along.  Heather would say with a huge grin across her face that Brody is total payback for all the times I judged her parenting, thinking oh my goodness Olivia would never act, or do something like that.  While that whole metaphor I had to "Eat my words" so to speak totally happened to me.  Brody came rip roaring into our family two weeks early, and hasn't stopped going since.  He started walking at 10 months old, and I cried out of the fear of what this little critter would get into now.  My dad has given him the nickname hurricane and I would have to say that, or the devil fits my son perfectly.  Every time Brody is having a boy/ Brody moment I can see Heather beaming knowing this is total payback!!  Avery, and Addison were actually living with me the first month Brody was born, so it gave the boys a chance to bond with their new baby nephew. Addy would try every way possible to wake him up, or make hime cry, and Avery would just hold Brody and love on him all the time.  I couldn't wait for the three of them to grow up together.  About a year ago Brody and I went down to Tucson for the weekend and when we left the Moore house I happened to have Avery in the car with me instead of my two in a half year old son.  I bet you are wondering how I could have mistaken the two, one being 9 and the other being 2 years old.  Well let me explain.  Before you, you will see a picture of my actual nephew Avery...

Handsome I couldn't agree more!! But that certain trip home this was who was in my car, insisting his name was Avery.

In case you are confused???? My son Brody decided he wanted to be called Avery, and in return he would call me Aunt Holly.  It started out hilarious, and we used it to our advantage as much as possible ( Avery eats vegetables, Avery wore those pants, Avery wouldn't say those naughty words, etc...) But just like anything else all good things must end, right?? Wrong this whole my name is Avery continued and still lives thriving in our household.  He introduces himself to strangers as Avery, and insists that  even his daycae lady call him Avery.  This has been going on for over a year now, and I am truly over it, and beg Avery/Brody to please stop calling me Aunt Holly in the fear that he has truly forgotten that I am his actual mother not his Aunt.  Needless to say Brody idolizes his oldest nephew,  and for good reason he is wonderful to Brody in so many ways.  Brody is lucky to have Avery as his role model.  But for goodness sake I want Brody back I miss him terribly!!!

Below you will see pictures of Avery and Brody together doing their thing, and in case you are confused Avery is the bigger of the two, enjoy...

Heather once said that god only gives you what you can handle, and I am convinced he was taking a vacation the day Brody came into this world, but in return Brody has taught me a new level of patience, how to laugh daily, if not hourly, and most of all unconditional love.  I love you Brody oops I mean Avery!!
